The responsibilities of the notetaker are:
Attend all board and general membership meetings and take notes using a template.
Edit notes within 1 week of the meetings.
Send notes to the Coordinating Committee via email, and post the notes on the website.
Report time on a per-job basis.
Required skills for the notetaker:
Ability to touch-type as people are talking.
Discretion about what to include in official MCC minutes.
Availability to attend board meetings (Wednesdays from 6pm until around 10pm) and General Membership Meetings (3 Sunday afternoons per year).
The notetaker is paid $15/hour for taking and editing notes. This is usually about 4 hours per meeting (though it can be as little as 2.5 hours and as much as 6 hours per meeting). The board meets approximately 15-20 times per year, and there are 3 General Membership Meetings per year.
MCC can provide a laptop if the notetaker doesn’t have one; the notetaker would then be responsible for picking up the laptop from the MCC office before meetings and returning it after meetings.
This position's end date is May 31st, 2015.
Send a brief letter to Coordinating Committee that describes any previous note-taking experience you have, and whether you have access to a laptop computer (this is not required; MCC has a laptop available if the notetaker does not have one).
