Statement on Upcoming Referendum

Madison Community Cooperative’s mission is to improve the Madison community by providing low-cost, not-for-profit cooperative housing for very- low to moderate-income people and to be inclusive of underrepresented and marginalized groups. On September 11, 2013, a debilitating house fire at Lothlorien Coop at 244 W. Lakelawn, undermined MCC’s ability to serve the 34 members displaced by the fire. The MCC membership and board of directors now grapple with the question about how best to recover from the fire.

Snow Removal in Madison

Now that Madison has had its first real snow of the season, it is a good time to make sure that your house has a plan for shoveling.
You are responsible for shoveling the entire sidewalk (not just a narrow path). This must be done by noon on the day after the snow stops (for example, if the snow stops falling on Monday, the deadline is noon on Tuesday). The city does not give warnings for unshoveled sidewalks - they move directly to a citation with a fine!
