Co-op Connection

MCC will have a booth at the Co-op Connection on Saturday, October 5 on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, 8:30am - 1pm. MCC's Membership Committee is creating lots of fun materials for the booth. This is a great opportunity to talk to members of the Madison community about cooperative living, and to learn more about over 20 other cooperative organizations in the community.
 
This event is free and open to the public, and includes a variety of live events.
 

Apply for a Scholarship to attend NASCO Institute

Every year, over 400 co-opers from around the US and Canada attend NASCO's annual training Institute. This year's Institute theme is "A Fire in Our Bellies: Food Justice and Cooperatives". More information about the event is at http://nasco.coop/institute.
MCC has scholarships available to help MCC members pay for registration and travel costs. The application is here, and is due by October 7th.

Work Party at Lothlorien

Lothlorien is holding a work party on Thursday, September 19th, from 9am-6pm to help clear items out of rooms that need emergency work. If you have some time to spare, please stop by 244 West Lakelawn Place, ready to work.

MCC Is Seeking a Notetaker for Board and General Membership Meetings

The responsibilities of the notetaker are:

  • Attend all board meetings and take notes using a template.
  • Attend all General membership meetings and take notes using a template.
  • Edit notes within 1 week of the meetings.
  • Send notes to the Member Services Coordinator via email.
  • Report time on a per-job basis.

MCC Announces Grant Opportunity for Community Organizations

Deadline Extension: Applications will be accepted until September 5, 2013

Madison Community Cooperative (MCC) is offering grants to community organizations active in grassroots work. A total of $2000 is available, which will be divided among organizations selected by MCC based on applications. This may take the form of one larger grant or multiple smaller ones. In previous years, grants have generally ranged from $200-500 per organization.

Internships available at MCC

MCC has two internships for the 2013-2014 year: the MCC Office Intern (5 hours/week) and the MCC Website Intern (10 hours/month).
Applications for both are due by May 29th, with a start date before July 1st.
